CornerFEST is Friday, September 23 from 4:30 - 7:30 pm

Friends of Woodfords Corner and Woodfords Congregational Church are excited to bring people together once again for CornerFEST 2022.

As in years past, CornerFEST will be a gorgeous night out with your neighbors - sampling food and beverages from neighborhood eateries, shopping the mini-marketplace stocked with talented arts and craft vendors and swaying to incredible live music. It will be a family fun event with an open house to the various organizations located in Woodfords Congregational Church. We'll also be celebrating the 150th anniversary of the church! They're excited to share their history with the neighborhood.

Corner Stories

Written by Jennifer Ceide, FWC Board Member

Moving from New Orleans, Louisiana to Portland, Maine was awkward. Awkward because I was so unfamiliar with the state and culture, and I wondered if I would connect with the people here. But I was lucky enough to land in Woodfords Corner. Within an instant, I was connected to a generous, curious, and kind community.

In a short amount of time familiarity grew, not because I had ever lived in a town like this before—being raised in Brooklyn, New York this small-city living was new to me—but because it mimicked the neighborhood Mister Rogers portrayed. And so, Woodfords Corner will always be the place that exemplifies the neighborly spirit of inclusivity, warmth, and friendship.

FWC Featured in the Portland Phoenix

Last week, we sat down to have a candid chat about the Corner with Portland Phoenix staff writer (and neighbor!), Evan Edmonds. We gave him the whole rundown on the history, the current endeavors, and the hopes and dreams of the district. He wrote an incredible article (also see below). Thanks, Evan!

Thank you Bird & Co for sponsoring the Crosswalk Murals!

When we presented Bird & Co with our plans to complete the Corner Crosswalk Murals, owner Wills Dowd was more than happy to offer to pay for our paint costs!

And by pure chance, our Crosswalk Murals match the new Bird & Co artwork by Rachael Nimon!

Congratulations Heart of Biddeford!

Heart of Biddeford, the Biddeford Main Street organization, was awarded the Great American Main Street Award. What a huge honor for our neighboring Main Street, who has worked so hard over the years to reinvigorate downtown Biddeford—congrats! Read the story >>>

Everchanging Seasons was recently closed during its 10-year Anniversary. They have relocated next door to the same plaza at 710 Forest Ave. Owner and Operator Jennifer Thoits is glad to be back open for business!
You’ll find everything from quality secondhand clothing, footwear, purses, art, & vintage home goods, locally made jewelry, vintage clothing, and accessories, and often items new with tags!
