JUNE 1st: Woodfords Corner Farmers Market Launches!


On June 1, 2023, the Woodfords Corner Farmers Market launches its first ever season, bringing fresh, local foods and services to this special corner of Portland every Thursday through October 5.

The 2023 Farmers Market is located in the parking lot of the Woodfords Congregational Church at 202 Woodfords Street. Each week 10-12 vendors will offer locally-grown or raised produce, eggs, and seafood, fresh cheeses and baked goods, and sought-after services.

JUNE 10th: Join Us at the 3rd Annual Woodfords Community Garden Tour!

Join neighbors and horticulture lovers from near and far for a self-guided tour of 10+ gardens throughout the Woodfords Corner Community – in Back Cove, Deering Highlands, Oakdale, and Deering Center. Enjoy an afternoon wandering the Corner's lovely hidden gems and pocket parks and visiting some of our wonderful restaurants and markets.

Help us Get More Bike Racks in the Corner!

With the aim of getting more of our community members on bikes, Friends of Woodfords Corner is conducting a Bike Rack Bonanza to install more bike parking locations around the neighborhood! We need your help to purchase bike racks and get them placed throughout the Corner.

We will be seeking public input on new rack locations, and you’ll be able to vote on where you want to see more bike parking soon. In the meantime... learn more & donate today! >>>

Volunteer for the 2023 Woodfords Corner Farmers Market!


We are looking for more volunteers to help during the 2023 Woodfords Corner Farmers Market season! Starting June 1st, volunteers will help us set up, break down, and run the market. Volunteer shifts will run from 2 - 5 pm and 5 - 8 pm every Thursday through October 5th. 

Volunteer for the 2023 Woodfords Community Garden Tour!

Last call for Garden Tour volunteers: help us make our biggest annual fundraising event a success! We need assistance with event set up, break down, attendee welcoming, and more. Contact Vonnett Seeger at vonagra@hotmail.com if you're interested in lending a hand!

JUNE 1st: Speedwell Contemporary – A Conversation with Jessica Gandolf & Tessa O'Brien

630 Forest Ave — Thursday, June 1st, 5 - 6 pm

Join Speedwell Contemporary on Thursday, June 1st, from 5 - 6pm for a deep dive into contemporary painting. This talk is in conjunction with Jessica Gandolf's solo exhibition, undertow, which is on view from May 19th – July 1st. Later in June, Gandolf will be leading a free yoga session with live cello at the gallery. Read more >>>

Join Coveside Coffee for a fun-filled market with local makers, a Ben Reuben's Knishery pop-up and a kids art activity with our friends from Love Lab Studio!

JUNE 17th: Woodfords Club Table Top Gaming and Boardgames

179 Woodford St — Saturday, June 17th, 6:30 - 11:30 pm

Join the Woodfords Club for tabletop games every Saturday night! Bring your own game to teach, or learn something new. This event is $1 per person.

June 27th: Picture Day Launch Party at Back Cove Books

651 Forest Avenue — Tuesday, June 27th at 4 pm

Join Back Cove Books for a picture-perfect launch to Sarah Sax's debut novel, Picture Day. Celebrations will include a picture booth, a chat with Sax about her work, and stickers and signatures for everyone!

9th Annual Rail Road Clean Up

It's hard to believe that FWC started with this first event back in 2015! Thank you to clean-up volunteers Jenna, Sarah, Barbara, Kelly, Courtney, Marcia, Teresa, and to our PanAm/CSX partner Rick Fowler for their support. And a big thank you to Sindabad Market for volunteer refreshments after some hard work!

Crosswalk Murals Repainted

Thank you again to all our volunteers and supporters of the Crosswalk Mural Refresh on May 19. As part of our efforts to make Woodfords Corner safe and walkable, FWC Active Transportation Committee replicated the design from last year on the first block of Deering Ave. Thanks to Bird & Co for providing the paint!
