History of Deering - Thank You Larson Kenney and Odd Fellows Hall!

Thank you to Larson Kenney for a showing of his documentary of the history of Deering Maine at Odd Fellows Hall. Kenney’s 2023 senior project in Media Studies at University of Southern Maine, this 60 min documentary begins with the history of the native inhabitants who proceeded European settlement to the present day. Thirty five people came to this second viewing of the documentary and learned more about the community they love. Many of those people stayed for a tour of the historic Odd Fellows building led by the Noble Grand, Joel Demers. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows Portland Lodge maintains this building as their home base for their fraternal organization. Donations from the event will go to help FWC continue to our work to support Woodfords Corner in preserving our history and building a thriving future.
